About Us
Si Vintners is a small, family-owned winery in Margaret River, founded by Sarah Morris and Iwo Jakimowicz – hence the “Si.”
Our winemaking journey has taken us across the world, with pivotal experiences in regions like South Africa, Switzerland, Spain and the Barossa helping to shape our approach.
During our time in northern Spain, we fell in love with the land, culture and natural approach to wine. We even purchased a vineyard there and return whenever possible.
At Si Vintners, our goal is simple: to craft honest wines that reflect the vitality of the land and the integrity of biodynamic farming.
Margaret River is renowned for its ancient soils, maritime climate and long, gentle ripening season. In the cooler southern part of the region lies Rosa Glen, where our vineyard is located. Here, higher rainfall and the strong influence of the Southern Ocean create a distinct microclimate that brings bright acidity, fine structure and aromatic complexity to our wines.
This unique setting plays a vital role in shaping the purity and energy that define Si Vintners.
The Vineyard
Our home block, The Halcyon Vineyard, spans around seven hectares under vine and is certified biodynamic by DEMETER. The heart of the vineyard lies in its oldest plantings, established in 1978, which produce our Halcyon Cabernet, Halcyon Chardonnay and Halcyon Pinot Noir.
We farm according to biodynamic principles, a regenerative approach that treats the vineyard as a self-sustaining ecosystem. Guided by lunar and planetary rhythms, we use natural preparations made from herbs, minerals and compost to enrich soil life, support vine health and foster biodiversity.
This produces resilient vines and fruit with energy, balance and a strong sense of place. Capturing the unique history and character of this special site in every bottle.
The Winery
In the winery, we take a minimal intervention approach, letting the fruit and the land speak. We use wild fermentation, relying solely on native yeasts present on the grape skins and in the winery environment. These native yeasts are unique to our vineyard, bringing complexity and individuality to our wines. We avoid additives, fining and filtration, in order to preserve the texture and integrity of the wine. Each vintage is a true expression of the season, the site and the natural energy that shapes it.
